I have years of miles logged with this pack. It's not one of the larger lumbar packs, but perfect for day hiking. I have stuffed in it, small photography pieces like a 1.4x teleconverter, small wallet, Iphone, and snacks. Thats about all it will hold. The water jug feature is perfect for me, thats why I chose it. It has no worn areas after all this time. I'd get a new one maybe a tad larger or with one more pocket, but this one is still perfect after years of abuse! ;) I connect other lens packs to it, a hat, and basically load it up with anything I don't want to carry. Love the color too, I want to blend in with the scenery. I added a stick on velcro closure to the inside pocket to secure ID and cards. It could do with another pocket, but for now I still love it. I actually wear it to the front side so I can get to it quickly.

Excellent quality. just the right size for short hikes. Main pocket fit my compact camera, binoculars and keys. Belt is too long for my small size, it becomes unwieldy to fold the ends. I will have to cut it soon.

I wear the pack on my front. I have a carabiner attached to the lower daisy chain loop and I hook the dog leash there. That keeps my hands free for comfortable walking and not having to juggle the leash when I'm bagging up dog waste. My daughter prefers to wear the pack in back and we keep a carabiner secured near the buckle for her (see photo). Don't ever just slide the leash or a carabiner onto the belt and then buckle it. One time my dog caused the buckle to open because her pulling caused the carabiner to press the release mechanism of the buckle.
I stuff (empty) doo doo bags in the main compartment. I wish there were a separate small zippered compartment where I could stash dog treats separate from the doo doo bags. There is just a flat inside pocket inside the main compartment, similar to little pockets found in ladies purses. For my purposes I attached a small pocket opposite the water bottle (see my photos).
One reviewer laments the lack of a full length zipper, but really it's only short by about an inch on each end. It's a little hard finding stuff in the corners because the pack is quite flat but that's also one of its good points.
It's a great minimalist pack and seems very sturdy. I don't normally carry water on our walks so I removed the water bottle and lashed the holder down.
The loop at the top is very handy for hanging the pack on a hook in an upright position.
I highly recommend this pack if it suits your needs.
